Sanders Funeral Home - Smithfield Obituary

Sister Linda Kay Dunn was born January 7, 1972, to the late Purvis Michael Dunn and Lucy Mae Dunn. She departed this life for her heavenly home on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield, North Carolina. Linda graduated from Smithfield-Selma High School and upon graduation joined the United States Air Force. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, she returned home and attended Johnston Community College. Linda always desired to be a nurse and she worked as a Certified Nurse's Assistant at Britthaven Nursing Home. Linda loved God with all her heart and throughout her illness, she would praise God for still allowing her to live and be a blessing to others. Her smile and laughter were genuine. She loved collecting figurines, working crossword puzzles, cooking, playing video games and watching movies. But most of all Linda loved her family, especially her daughter and mother. Linda is loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed by her mother, Lucy Dunn; daughter, Princess Bristow of Selma, N.C.; her brothers, Linwood Dunn of Jacksonville, Fl. and Purvis M. Dunn. Jr.; her sister, Hester Patricia Ann Dunn of Raleigh, N.C.; a special aunt, Linda Dunn Freeman of Rocky Mt. N.C.; her friend, Jay Bristow ; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many faithful friends. A candle was lit in the memory of Linda K.

Linda was in several of my classes at Johnston Community College. I have fond memories of her as an excellent student with a sweet disposition. Her loss will be felt my many. My sympathies to her family.

Evans Family you have my condolence and in my prayers.

Linda, your smile and laughter was contagious! You laughed hard and loved your mother (Lucy Branch Dunn) and daughter (Princess Bristow) harder. You were always kind, sweet and most of all compassionate to others. I will never forget our last conversation. Your earthly struggles are over! Rest in the bosom of the Almighty! Love you forever!

My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends. May you always cherish the memories that you have with your loved one, and remember that God is always there for us like it tells us at 1 Peter 5:6,7. I hope you continue to feel love and support from your family and friends.

God be with Precious and her family. Tracy D.
