FRIEDLAND, Linda (née Rosenblum) – My mom was not just a piano teacher and mother of four, she was a critical thinker, a problem solver, a shining example of the human spirit and a person who would literally give just about anyone in need the shirt off her back. In the 1970s...

Not sure what to say?

My condolence to all her family and friends.

In 1989 at 21 , I was accepted at Concordia in music, I wanted to do guitar but first I decided to take piano lesson in order to help me becoming a composer. That was the best décision ever because Linda was much more than a piano teacher for me, first year first semestre in 89 octobre I have lost my father, I was so devasted, no need to say that my piano studies was far from my head. Beside being my piano teacher She was a therapist for...

I'm not sure where to begin. Linda was my piano teacher when I was an undergraduate at Concordia in the 1980s. She introduced me to many composers and improved my poor technique, but her lessons were always about much more than the piano or even music. A few years ago I reconnected with Linda and had been exchanging emails with her frequently and as recently as a few weeks ago. We had a connection that has been rare in my life. I'm at a loss now as to what to write. Where to begin. I may have...

Dear Friedland Family,
My condolences to all of you. And Nathan, what a wonderful tribute to your mother you have written.
I was so blessed to have known Linda as a true friend and was also so very privileged to have had her as my piano teacher. Linda opened my eyes to so many mysteries, nuances and interpretations in the music, as well as in the physical technique of playing. We had many adventures together in concerts and restaurants, and long philosophical/religious chats. I...

My condolences to all of her family and friends. I work at Winners and it was always nice to see her . I did not know her personally, but I did know she was very kind.

Dear Joey, Nathan, Noah, Abraham and families:
While I didn't get to know your mother well during the years I coached Joey and Nathan, I could tell she was a highly intelligent and very classy woman. I know she accomplished many things in her life of which to be proud, including raising four fine young men.
Please accept my most heartfelt condolences on your loss. I'm sure you all will be comforted by your many wonderful memories of your mother.

I knew your wonderful mom for approximately 35 years. I feel I know her sons, their spouses and her grandchildren. When your mom and I got on the phone... it was never less than a 2 hour conversation. She was my very best friend and soul mate. I visited with her approximately 5 years ago when I drove from Montreal to Toronto. Each of my 3 daughters met her and adored her- NO ONE QUITE LIKE LINDA!!!

I am so very sorry....
