Linda Hassa, 75, of Brick passed away on March 10, 2021 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.


She was born in Newark, NJ and moved to Brick in 1972.


Linda graduated from Essex County Vocational and Technical High School and studied Business Administration at Rutgers-Newark.  She was a secretary for IBM in Newark where she met her husband George; they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  She was a volunteer secretary for AFDCS; was the secretary for the Lakewood Environmental Commission for 25 years.  Linda was a class mom for many years; she volunteered for both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts; taught CCD classes at St. Dominic’s; was an avid photographer and loved going to the beach and collecting shells  Later on in life she worked for the Strand Theatre in Lakewood and Macy’s and  was a  communicant of St. Dominic’s Church, Brick.


Her husband George Hassa passed on away April 6, 2021.


Surviving is her son George Hassa and his wife Amy of Mays Landing; a daughter Debbie Hassa of Brick; two grandchildren Samantha and Ryan and many cousins.


A Memorial Gathering will be held Thursday from 4:00-8:00pm at Colonial Funeral home, 2170 Hwy.88, Brick.  A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 16th  10:00 am  at St. Dominic’s Church, Brick. Cremation was private.  In lieu of flowers donations in her memory  to Rebecca’s Rescue, Brick or Funny Farm Rescue and Sanctuary in Mays Landing would be appreciated.


Due to the Covid-19 executive orders of Governor Murphy, please be aware that masks must be worn at all times, social distancing must be maintained, and there are capacity limitations for all gatherings. For the safety of all involved, we ask that you please limit your time in the funeral home and pay your respects briefly to allow the opportunity for others to do so as well.

Linda, I can´t believe it´s 2 years for you. I will always carry you in my heart and George. You are together and enjoying your new life on other side. Miss you until we meet again. Godspeed.

My sincere condolences to Debbie, George and family on the sad loss of our dear Linda; mother, grandmother, cousin and friend. You will be missed by all of us but your spirit will remain in our hearts forever. Many the good Lord bring healing peace to the Hassa family.

I am utterly shocked to hear of Linda’s passing along with her husband George . I only knew Linda and she IS a beautiful soul, thoughtful, caring lady. I am so sad for her children to lose both parents in less than a month. Linda it was a
