Dr. Linda-Jo DeGroff

I was just looking up Dr. DeGroff to talk to her about possibly teaching again. I was very sad to learn of her death. She was a great professor, and we shared a love of children's literature. I really connected with her in the one class I had with her and now wish I had looked her up sooner. I have been an attorney for over a decade, and lost many of my education contacts. Dear Lorey and family, I was blessed with many years of friendship with Linda, including teaching together, hanging out with our husbands across many years, and special dinners now and then across the last few years. I have been living in Scotland for the past 4 months and just returned back to Athens. Please know my heart is with you and all the children who loved Aunt Linda. She was very special to me, and it's hard to be back and know she is no longer there at home. With love....

To Linda's family, I was so sorry to hear of Linda's passing. I just today found out today. Linda was a very caring person and i enjoyed working with/for her at UGA.

Dr. DeGroff had such a passion for children's literature and helped many people become avid readers. May she be at peace and may the family be comforted by their memories with her.
