Linda Louise Malcom

Linda Louise Malcom, 47, of Port Orchard, WA, formerly of Springfield, died on April 30, 2008 at her home. Linda was born on January 21, 1961 in Springfield, the daughter of James R. and Donna Mae Nesbitt Malcom and was one of nine children. Linda joined the United States Navy in 1984, and was honorably discharged in 1993, when she made her home in Port Orchard, as she loved it in Washington. Linda enjoyed the company of her friends that she had made in Washington. She also loved to cook and enjoyed spending her time fishing and entertaining friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and all of her friends. Linda was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Donald Brian, a special dog, Archie, her grandparents, and her nephew, James Fortney. She is survived by her parents, James and Donna Malcom of Springfield; five sisters, Sherry (husband, Dale) Lopez of Highland, CA, Cynthia (husband, James) Booker of Springfield, Christine Brian of Springfield, Dianna Malcom of Springfield, and Rochell Malcom of San Bernardino, CA; three brothers, James R. (wife, Ann) Malcom of Leroy, IL, David (wife, Joyce) Malcom of Monmouth, IL, and Charles Malcom of Monmouth, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation was accorded by Gaffney Funeral Home in Tacoma, Washington. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00-6:00 on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Swickard, officiant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be provided by Dept of Defense and Interveterans Burial Detail.
