Linda Sue Guyer McCann, age 79 of Ronda was rescued by the angels peacefully on September 7, 2013 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in Surry County to the late Dillard Grant Guyer and Lena Edna Gentry Guyer. Mrs. McCann graduated from Elkin High School in 1952. Mrs. McCann and her husband Thomas were the first couple married at Ebenezer United Methodist Church on July 2, 1955. She loved to can, quilt, sew, and cook and was a loving homemaker and caregiver to her husband and children. Mrs. McCann was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir and a member of Methodist Youth Fellowship. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by brothers, Marvin R. Guyer, D.G. Junior Guyer, Ervin Guyer; sisters, Maurine Wagoner, Hilda Wilcoxen, Patsy Jo Guyer. Mrs. McCann is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Thomas McCann of the home, children, Janet Lynn McCann of Ronda, Mark Thomas McCann (Cher) of Ronda; brother, Bill Guyer (Jean) of Atlanta, sisters, Vena Sprinkle of Elkin, Kay Fargo (Mike) of Idaho; grandchildren, Sheila Richardson (Jason), Jason Luffman (Mya), Kristy McCann, Misty McCann, Tonya Johnson, Michael McCann (Stephanie), Lara Belinda Johnson, Samantha McCann, Marlissa McCann; twelve great-grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00p.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church led by Rev. Judy Davis also Mr. Dale Swofford will be speaking. Burial will follow the service at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 9, 2013 from 6:00-8:00p.m., at Johnson Funeral Home.
