Linda Bernice Wallace Pierson, departed this earthly life on February 13, 2019. She was born August 14, 1960 in Roanoke to the late Tony Crenshaw and Mary Wallace.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Reeves.  She was a 1970 graduate of Patrick Henry high school and went on to cosmetology school. 


While in high school she played the Clarinet.  She was the beautician for many of the ladies of the Lincoln Terrace community. Linda was a dedicated church worker she served as a Deaconess  of the Melrose Seven Day Adventist Church where her family attended for many years.  She was also seen working in other churches around the Roanoke Valley. She was choir director for the Sweet Union Baptist Church and enjoyed singing with the choir.  She was also a member of the Mass choir of the Pilgrim Baptist Church and recently joined the Hospitality Committee of Pilgrim.  She was very dedicated to Pilgrim and loved Pastor and Mrs. Steele.  She was happy greeting the visitors and helping serve others.  She was a Praiser and everyone knew it. 


She was a loving mother to her two children, Charity and Hope Wallace and loved her grandchildren.  She did not mind working to take care of her family.  She worked many jobs and sometimes leaving one job to go to another. She was employed as a cafeteria worker at the Roanoke city jail.  She has always been a great caregiver.


Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Charity(Rob), and Hope Wallace, brothers and sisters, Waldine (Janice) Wallace, Mary and Diane Crenshaw, grandchildren, Asha, Andrew, and Amaliek Wallace, other relatives and friends.


A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019, 12:00 Noon with family visitation at 11:00AM  at Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Can hardly believe it....when I was an inmate in the City Jail you gave us all a certain degree of comfort. You will be truly miss Linda. Rest in peace my friend.

Linda and i that grew up as best friends I remember sitting on the porch doing hair all the time. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to be there but you are always in my thoughts especially when I squeeze my nose to remove a blackhead she taught me that as teenagers and I thank her for always checking on my mom. To her family Linda was very good lady who will truly be missed.
