Linda Pratt
Concord, NH - Linda Pratt "Chong Sun-Cha," beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister, passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 76.
She was born in Jeonju, South Korea, the daughter of Jin Pil Seon and the second of four sisters. Little is known about her early years before she met a US Army soldier, Steve who was stationed near her home. They fell in love and became engaged before he returned to the States.
In the spring of 1972, Linda and their 3-month old son traveled thousands of miles to begin a new life in New Hampshire. Steve and Linda shared 54 years of devoted and heartfelt companionship.
With courage and grace, Linda embraced every opportunity to learn English, earn her U.S. citizenship, and adapt to American culture while holding fast to the Korean traditions and values that shaped her. Patient and eager to learn from family and friends, she created a beautiful blend of past and present, a testament to her resilience, faith, and love.
Linda was deeply committed to helping other Korean women who were new to this country. Her door was always open, and through her kindness and leadership, she built a welcoming community where friends supported one another through loneliness, homesickness, language barriers, and cultural challenges. Her compassion brought comfort and strength to many, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Linda was an amazing cook. Her table always had an open seat, and something prepared for those she welcomed into her home. We will truly miss her famous kimchi, bulgogi, and egg rolls which graced countless family celebrations (and occasionally delighted favorite nephews).
In her later years, Linda became a master gardener, bringing life to both potted plants and outdoor gardens. Her front yard bloomed into a vibrant palette of flowers that stopped traffic, while her backyard yielded vegetables she generously shared with family, friends, and neighbors.
The greatest joy in Linda's life was her family. Survived by her loving husband Steve, she was also blessed with two children, Jim (Holly) and JoAnn Nault (BJ), and four cherished grandchildren Finnley, Piper, Mya, and Logan. Linda took immense pride in her family, celebrating every success, adventure, and milestone, big or small. She also warmly extended her love to all her nieces and nephews.
Linda's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family and friends are deeply thankful for the time they shared with her and the joy she brought into their lives.
A period of visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Waters Funeral Home located at 50 S. Main Street, Concord, NH. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Waters Funeral Home. Following the service, burial will be at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, New Hampshire.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Payson Center for Cancer Care and nurses on floor 5N at Concord Hospital for their TLC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda's name to the HOPE Resource Center located in the Payson Center for Cancer Care at Concord Hospital.

Steve, Jim, Joanne and the rest of Linda's family and friends- I am so incredibly sorry to hear about Linda. She was a beautiful person. My second mother kept me on the straight and narrow always reminding me to "Keep my Jimmy out of trouble"- I failed her a few times but she forgave me. The world lost a wonderful soul recently. Keep her memories fresh, smile when you think of her and hold her dearly in your thoughts.
