Seaver Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Princeton Obituary

Linda Proffitt, a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, grandma, great-grandma, is looking down from heaven over us.  She lost her life on Saturday morning May 19, 2018 at her home in Princeton.  Linda was born on May 27, 1949 to Frances Mae O’Dell of Princeton and the late Toley Lomas O’Dell.  She married the love of her life Thomas R. Proffitt, Sr.  She was employed at Rite Aid in Princeton as an assistant manager for many years before becoming disabled.  Her hobbies and interests were working in her flower gardens, cooking, baking, listening to and singing Christian music.  She loved church, reading, and watching all family movies with horses in them, especially Flicka and Black Beauty.  She also loved spending time with family and her two dogs, Pickles and Rocky.  She was a kind, warm-hearted person who loved helping others.  Linda will be greatly missed by all family and friends.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tommy” R. Proffitt, Sr.; and infant brother, Frankie O’Dell.  Survivors in addition to her mother include her son, Thomas R. “Scooter” Proffitt, Jr. and his wife Becky Kivett of Princeton; daughter, Frances L. Lewno of Princeton; grandchildren, Tabitha Lewno-Bock and husband Andrew, Cody Proffitt, Michael Proffitt and wife Darlene, Annabelle Proffitt, and Lillian Proffitt; great-grandchildren, Ryley, Novaleigh, and Kinzley Bock; brothers, Irvin O’Dell, Jr. of Princeton and Freddie O’Dell; and sister Carrie Proffitt Walters and husband Clarence of Bluewell.  Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2018 at Pentecost Chapel of Praise in Princeton with Pastors Naomi and Larry White officiating.  In honoring Linda’s wishes, she will be cremated following the service.  Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. until the service hour Friday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Pentecost Chapel of Praise, 632 N. Wickham Ave, Princeton, WV  24740.
