Linda Glasgow Reed, 78, of Midland, went to see our Lord and Savior on February 2, 2014 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Comanche, Texas on May 8, 1935. She was a loving wife and mother who loved basketball and bowling. She was a member of the 1951 Class A, first Girls State Basketball Champions and Comanche High School Hall of Fame. She was an avid bowler and was able to see 47 of the 50 states while going to tournaments. Linda also loved to play the piano and organ. She was a member of the Cuthbert Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Clint Reed; her daughters, Cheryl Simmons and husband Mark, and Julie Bumpus and husband Joe; her son, Bill Reed; and by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father of Comanche, Texas and by one grandson. A viewing will be held at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Cuthbert Avenue Baptist Church on Wednesday February 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Pendergrass Cemetery in Sidney, Texas on Thursday February 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Hospice of Midland. Funeral service is under the direction of Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel.
