Linda L. Smith, age 61, of Main Street in Farmington, died April 6, 2009 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 19, 1948 in Salem, Mass., daughter of the late Wilbur and Audrey (Smith) Ellsworth, she resided in Farmington, NH for most of her life.

She was employed for many years as a shoe worker at local shoe factories, including: Alton Shoe, Jameson Shoe and Colby Footwear, also she had worked at Hattie’s Place in Farmington.

Linda enjoyed Nascar racing, especially her favorite driver: Jeff Gordon #24. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters: Norma and husband Charlie Baron of Rochester, Shiela and husband Ron Washburn of Rochester, her sons: Dale Smith of Rochester and Brian Smith of Dover, grandchildren: Tyler, Rachel and Kaitlin Baron, Zachary, Brandon and Brooke Washburn, John C. Smith IV, Hunter Smith, Nicole Hartford, Peter and Jessica Smith, Theresa Buskey and Matthew Perkins, her brothers: Walter and wife Rebekah Ellsworth of Rochester, Mark and wife Faye Ellsworth of North Carolina, also Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by her son John C. Smith, III on March 16, 2009.

The calling hour is Thursday, April 9, 2009 from 4-5pm with a service at 5:00 pm at the Milton Assembly of God on Route 125, White Mountain Highway in Milton, NH with Rev. Alfred Weeden, pastor, officiating, family and friends are welcome. Interment will be later in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington. I am so sorry that yu had to say good bye to another one of your family member. I am sure going to miss the good times that we were able to have with your mother. I loved it when we picked her up to go to special occasions with the family. I got to know her so well. I hated to see her go but I am glad she is all done suffering.
