Not sure what to say?

I was disheartened to learn of Linda's death. She and I worked at Wellesley College together. She and Ridge had had a Nielsen boat at one time (my father, Aage Nielsen), so we shared a love of the sea. It was so appropriate to learn about doing "a Linda, " i.e., a random act of kindness. My condolences to all of you.

Brock.....my thoughts are with you, Holly and Linda's family. Its been awhile since I saw her but she was always very gracious, friendly and I enjoyed her sense of humor.

On scenic Block Island

For the past decade George & I have enjoyed the hospitable company of Linda & Ridge aboard Rooster as we sailed the south coast waters on Flying Kyte. One particularly memorable time occurred in crowded Hadley Harbor when, our attempts to anchor in the mud having failed miserably, Rooster graciously let us raft and lined us up for a soon-to-be-vacated mooring. But my favorite "Linda moment" happened early one morning at Parker's Boat Yard in Cataumet, where Rooster and Flying Kyte had spent...

Ridge - unfortunately I share with you the loss of a dear spouse. My wife Patricia passed away on November 18,2015. I can imagine the grief you must feel after losing the person closest to you. Every day, I review the eulogy that I gave at her funeral and look at the PowerPoint I have put together of photos of her life. You seemed like a great team and I wish for you strength and perseverance in the difficult days ahead.

We at Dedham Country Day School are so saddened to hear of Linda's passing. She was an active member of the Class of 1959, and we remember her fondly from recent visits back to campus. Our deepest condolences to her family.

Linda was one of the kindest, most charitable people I knew. She never said an unkind or cruel thing about anyone. Her passing is sad indeed. My condolences to Ridge and the girls.

Linda was one of my USPS mentors. She shared great stories of her experiences sailing and always, ALWAYS, had loads of her homemade brownies to share. I'm inspired by her courage, grace and long, loving marriage with Ridge. May she rest in peace. I will miss her her smile, hugs and stories. Robin Assaf

So very sorry to find out about Linda...A kind & generous lady to many...We did share a lot of good times with the dogs and all the adventures in Westwood. She was always a big help to me......My special thoughts and prayers to all of the family...........RIP

Elegy For a Friend

The skies weep cold
On all today
And with the dampness
Gloom descends
Cold, bitter chill
She could not stay her spirit's flight
Nor choose to leave us here Bereft...alone
Would we could have
quelled Death's persistent knock
Denied her home
Watched Him walk away
Bereft...alone
Like us, today

Rued now the empty bed
Books never again to be read
Laughter pealing these silent rooms
