Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Sioux Falls Obituary

On Monday, August 19, 2024, Linda Kay Williams, age 75, of Sioux Falls, SD was called to her heavenly home. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Linda Kay was born on July 15, 1949, to Ted and Betty Larson.

She resided in Sioux Falls for most of her life but also lived in Texas and Washington for a period of time. She attended and graduated from Washington Highschool, graduating in 1967.

Soon after graduating she met and married Gary Miller. In their time together they had four beautiful daughters: Dawn, Lisa, Kristina, and Casey.

Over the last 17 years Linda lived her life to the fullest in sobriety with her second family from Southside AA. Linda worked at a variety of casinos in Sioux Falls, which she very much enjoyed. She encountered many people during this time whose lives she touched. Linda also enjoyed going to lunch and sitting behind the machines with her very best friends Tammy, LaDona, Deb, and Jim whose friendships were irreplaceable.

Linda made the absolute most of her time doing her favorite thing which was traveling with her friends and family.

Her fondest memories were the trips she took with her daughters to Vegas. She also treasured the memories she made traveling around the country with her friends, one trip she especially enjoyed was when she got her passport to go to Cancun. In addition, she enjoyed traveling to Arizona to see Jeri Mann Duncan, her sister in law.

In 2001 Linda’s first great-grandchild was born, Elijiah Matthews, who she created a very special relationship with. They were each others' "ride or die!!!"

Linda will be missed by every single person whose life she touched.

Linda leaves behind her daughters Dawn Dossett, Lisa Roman, Kristina Miller, and Casey Schares (James), all of Sioux Falls.

She is also survived by her brothers, JT Larson (Linda) of Colorado, JD Larson (Jane) of New Mexico, Greg Larson of Florida; sister Deb Mathews of Sioux Falls; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews, who brought her so much joy.

Linda will also be deeply missed by her dachshund Zoey.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Ted Larson and Betty Novak; uncle, Billy Backhaus; and great-grandson Dimitri Lobo who was taken to soon.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 24 at 10 AM, Heritage Funeral Home.
