Linwood Daniel Lewis, 91, of Blytheville, passed from this life, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born in Henderson, NC to P.E. and Effie Loyd Lewis, Linwood proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was employed with AT&T for 43 years as a switchman and Linwood's love of sports, led him to KLCN radio station, where he broadcast sporting events for the Blytheville Chickasaws for football and basketball games. He was an avid golfer and served as past teacher for the Sr. High Fellowship Group at First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Head Lewis; sister, Maxine Willard and stepdaughter, Marsha Boyette. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Richardson Lewis, of the home; son, Linwood Lewis Jr. and wife, Laura of Winston-Salem, NC; brother, E.G. Lewis and wife, Jewell of Henderson, NC; grandsons, Swain Lewis and Bradley Lewis and wife, Emily. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 2pm in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Steve Baillio officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
