Lionel "Little Train" James

I am so saddened to hear that my favorite player from Auburn has passed away. I attended Auburn and "Little Train" was by far my favorite player! My husband and I were just talking about football and my years at Auburn (my husband UGA), and I said I wonder what my favorite player is doing now, so I googled it. I remember at Auburn when Lionel first arrived. We had so many gifted running backs in front of him. The first time I handed the ball off to him during practice I hit his face mask. Lionel continued to work on his craft of blocking and running. He was pound per pound one tough guy. Rest in peace Lionel, War Eagle!

Little train was a hero of mine growing up and I had the pleasure of meeting him during his playing days. RIP lil train.

I was privileged to have Lionel on my faculty at Woodlawn High School. He was a fine man and outstanding teacher(in fact Kesha had been one of my students at Woodlawn years before). May God watch over his family and bless them each day with his memory. And from a Bama alum- War Eagle!

I have so many wonderful memories of your family in the years the children attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School. It was my honor to teach Lionel, Jr. and Kasey in kindergarten there. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you in this most difficult time. Lionel, Sr. was an incredible man and his legacy will live on forever! May God grant you His peace and grace.
