Lionel J. Lamoureux

I turned 18 shortly after the drinking age was lowered to 18 in Connecticut. After a spaghetti dinner at home, I celebrated my birthday with a couple of beers at the Hi Lo. It became a favorite place to stop after 2nd shift at Griswold Rubber. Lionel made great `Dagwood´ sandwiches on toasted bread with meatloaf, lettuce & tomato, and mayo. He served beer on tap in frosted mugs. He had a ship´s-style bell to sound a warning if someone swore. He´d give just one warning. Then he put you out....

Dear Butch and family,

We are thinking of you and praying for you and your family that God will be your strength, joy and comfort in these hard and sad times. Let 1 Corinthians 5:8 (to be abscent from the body and to be present with the Lord) be an encouragement to you at this time and always. It has been a great encouragement to me, knowing that my dad is "present with the Lord." If you should start to doubt, remember from his creation that the flowers and trees bloom in the spring...

We have lost not only a friend but a great man

Dearest Lois and Family, I share your grief for the loss of Lionel. He was a dear compasionate Brother Knight. I shall miss him, but know that his is safe in the bosom of Jesus as He promised. Well done, good and Faithful Servnt.

Lois, So sorry to hear about Lionell's death. He's in a better place with no more suffering. I missed seeing him at Bingo on Monday nights. He'll be missed by all. Love, Roy & Gail
