Not sure what to say?

I was sad to hear about Lionels passing and glad to know that his suffering was not long. He and his humor will be missed. I never knew anyone who could tell the same joke with such gusto ( with eye rolls from Claire ) and deliver it as if he were telling it for the 1st time, lol. May the next part of his journey reunite he and Claire on that train where they 1st met.

I am so sorry to hear of Lionel´s passing. Lionel and Claire were close family friends and they attended birthday celebrations and New Years parties together with my parents. He briefly was my doctor. When Lionel moved to the Oaks, Dad visited him regularly, and they talked on Zoom. I too remember Lionel´s warm laugh and good humor. I´m delighted to bring my Dad Edgar Galson to the memorial service.

Lionel was a close friend, and our family doctor for many years. In honor of the Mountain Goat Race in Syracuse every year, I drew a cartoon which I flashed so all the runners could see it. The cartoon was different every year. I remember one cartoon I made in which his children were all lined up and the youngest was saying, "I want to be a mountain goat." I made a point of stationing myself around 2/3 through the course so all the runners could see the cartoon. This is just one of many...

I had the pleasure of working for Dr. Rudolph and Porter at 404 University Ave for many years. I remember fondly cheering him on during the Mountain Goat Race and then a party at his home afterwards. The rose garden was beautiful . Dr. Rudolph was a marvelous doctor and I enjoyed working with such a kind gentleman. He treated everyone with kindness and respect. My condolences to his family.

Lionel was a mentor and role-model for me during my Residency and later in my private practice. Always kind, compassionate, and a gentleman. Nothing but fond memories of him. Condolences to his friends and family.

Lionel was my doctor when I lived in Syracuse, until he retired. Best doc I ever had, his long life was well earned. Rest in peace, doc.

There are so many memories of Lionel as a family friend. In recent years I would take my dad Edgar to visit him at the Oakes. He was my dad´s last living friend .

My deep condolences to Sue, Danny and Chumley (sorry, Alan). I went with my dad to your mom's memorial a few years ago, but I'm going to have to miss this one. It does not get any less weird that so many of our parents in this crowd have passed away. The memories remain vivid, though, and I'll be keeping a good thought for Claire, Lionel and all of you. - Tony.

It is with a sad heart I write this note, however, when I think of Dr. Rudolph it often makes me smile and stimulates so many special memories. It was because of Lionel Rudolph MD that I went on to become a Nurse Practitioner. He always saw the potential in staff and encouraged them to be their best. Lionel and Claire became friends with many of us that worked with him at Hutching´s Psychiatric Center even into their and our retirement years. Dr. Rudolph always said I told him what to do...
