Lisa Loraine Brewster, a beloved member of the Bruce, Mississippi community and a dedicated healthcare professional, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on August 5, 1960, in Bruce, she was a beacon of kindness and compassion throughout her life. A proud graduate of Bruce High School in 1978, Lisa went on to earn her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Itawamba Community College and later obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Union University in Tennessee. She dedicated her career to serving others as a Registered Nurse, having worked at Bruce Hospital and Oxford Hospital. Lisa's experience included roles as an emergency room nurse, dialysis nurse, and travel nurse, where her knowledge and skill saved countless lives. Lisa was not just defined by her profession; she was a vibrant spirit who embraced life with joy. She dedicated time to her faith, often attending Grace Fellowship in Calhoun City, Mississippi, where she shared her love for God with others. Lisa loved to talk, garden, and travel, and her warm personality meant that she never met a stranger. Her family, including her siblings, nieces, and nephews, will forever cherish the memories of her laughter, storytelling, and unwavering support. She is survived by her loving brother Ronald Jenkins (Janet) of Bruce, MS, her sisters Betty Carol McCostlin (Jim) of Bruce, MS and Martha Sue Griffin (Jerry) of Tupelo, MS, as well as her nephews Jesse Jenkins (Erika), Bradley McCostlin (Carla), Jason McCostlin (Mitzi), Ben Jenkins (Jes) and nieces Amanda Weeks (Bubba), and Carla Parker (John). Lisa was also proud of her eight great-nieces and four great-nephews: Alayna, Hayden, Alexis, Maci, Jaxon, Marley, Swayze, Emma, Levi, John, Chelle, and Christa. Lisa's life will be honored with a public viewing held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home on July 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Bruce Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Dr. Bobby Douglas officiating. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life, her love, and the light she brought to so many during her time with us. Serving as pallbearers are Hayden McCostlin, Bradley McCostlin, Jason McCostlin, Jaxon McCostlin, Bubba Weeks, Jesse Jenkins, Ben Jenkins, and John Parker. As we say goodbye to Lisa Loraine Brewster, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness, compassion, and faith, remembering that she continues to inspire even in her absence. Lisa was preceded in death by her husband William Dayne Brewster, father Orban Jenkins, and mother Betty Jenkins. Parker Memorial Funeral Home is honored to be of service to Lisa's family during this difficult time of loss.
