Not sure what to say?

Lisa was my roomate and great friend at St. Lawrence. Somehow, we lost touch after graduation until just 4 months ago when I got a "Hamilton College Welcome to Incoming Freshman Parents" email from someone named Martha Robbins of Connecticut. Through a series of email exchanges, her relationship to Lisa was revealed and she put us in touch with each other. It felt SO GOOD to begin the 33 year "catch up" with Lisa. I didn't know about her illness and she had way too much else to tell me. ...

Dear Cissel Family,
The Garofalo family would like to thank Lisa for endless moments of fascination & joy in the classroom. Her inspiration lives on in this magical world that she cherished so deeply. All of our love and deepest sympathy, Marie,John,Juliana,Matt,JP & Frankie

Prayers for Lisa's family and for Lisa. We grew up together at Saint Timothy's and Timothy Dwight Elementary School. May she rest in peace and rise in glory. (the Rev'd Canon) Lee Crawford

For now, let me say that it was a privileged being at her funeral; the memories shared on Thursday highlighted the LOVE that she shared with all who knew her. We are all better people having experienced her LOVE! God has blessed the 4 of you for being with her on a daily basis! It was fitting that YOU and others shared her life with so many,...

She wanted me to call her Lisa instead of Mrs. Cissel and to my son, Jonathan (Jonny) she was known as his beloved Mrs.Cissel. Jonny and I were blessed to have Lisa in our lives, a very caring and warm human being with a loving smile. She spent afternoons with Jonny nurturing, teaching, and caring for him while I worked. I knew my son was in great hands. She would say he's the son she didn't have and it was her pleasure. She baked cookies and banana bread for him and they played games as...

We remember Lisa's gentle sweetness with all the little children in the neighborhood. May the love of family and friends help sustain you in this sad time.
