Sparky was on born on March 1, 1924 in Springfield, Co. to Litchford and Cora Sparks.  At an early age the moved to Old Hansford outside of Spearman and lived on a dairy farm.  Growing up he had to milk cows twice a day, he had a saying “on a dairy, every day is Monday”.  He went to Spearman High School where he met the love of his life Pearl Robertson.  They married on December 16, 1944 when he was on leave before he shipped off to serve in WWII.

Sparky and Pearl bought a laundry on main street in Stinnett when he returned from the service.   After a short stint in Bakersfield, CA he realized he was a Texan and moved back to Stinnett where he worked for the post office, eventually becoming the Postmaster.  After he retired from the post office he ran for County Commissioner where he served for 8 years.  He drove a school bus for many years, where he enjoyed being around kids and watching them grown up.

He was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church where he was very active and loved the Lord. He loved to play music and had a band called The Wild Turkeys.  They would play for dances, nursing home and other town events.  He loved to fish, every summer he would take a trip to South Fork Colorado where he would meet friends and family.  Sparky never met a stranger and loved everyone.  He leaves behind many lifelong friends. He was a positive influence on everyone he met.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Pearl, brothers, Aubie, James, Roscoe, and W.E. Sparks; sisters, Opal Boxford, Owassa Nettles Valdez, Shirley Talley, Billie Jo Kelley and  Mary Ann Snodgrass

Survivors include his daughter Zontee and son-n-law David of Tampa Fl. Grandsons, Jeremy Morgan of Phoenix, AZ and Daylin Morgan of Austin, TX; numerous nieces and nephews and many loving friends.

So nice Rest In Peace my Friend

"Sparky" was one of the first adults I met as a small child. He was always a kind person and never too busy to just stop and say hello. He will remain a part of my life in Stinnett. He will be missed deeply and remembered forever.

I'm sure everybody here in Stinnett Love Sparky! Sparky could show up on what you thought was your worst day and make it your best. There was something really special about Sparky almost like he's an Angel on Earth, I'm assuming he was and Now God has called him home. He will be missed, always loved but never forgotten. Fly High Sparky R.I.P

He always had a kind word for me when I would see him at the post office as I was growing up. His name for me was "little Shinn". My sincere condolences to his family. He touched a lot of lives.
