Not sure what to say?

Pauline, Pam, Penny and the rest of your wonderful family--All us Shepherds send you our greatest love and empathy at the loss of a spouse/father who was the true embodiment of both "civil" and "servant." We know we didn't see much of you all, but we were always grateful to note that we were shirttail kin to someone who so vastly improved the quality of life for everyone in our region. Warmest regards to all of you from Sally, Jean, Jennifer, Isaac (formerly K.J.) and

Lloyd served on my board of directors at the Oregon Environmental Council and was one of the smartest, kindest mentors I ever had the pleasure to work with there. I'll never forget the way he could share gems of wisdom - or ask the tough questions - without any sting. He was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with you, Pauline.

It was our pleasure to know Lloyd as a kind and caring person. He will be missed.

About seven years ago I had the pleasure of interviewing Lloyd on his houseboat about his professional work for my doctoral dissertation, after he which he took me out for a spin on the river. I will never forget his vitality and generosity. Oregon and Portland have lost an important figure, one who was at the center of many debates that profoundly shaped the city and the state. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Lloyd was a wonderful leader and director of the Port of Portland. He hired young people and gave them the authority to get things done. He was a tremendous mentor and guide. I valued greatly my 8-years of working for him.

Our family will always remember Lloyd (who we met at our local coffee shop) for his great sense of humor, many stories and generosity. We were lucky to know him!

Lloyd Anderson was a gift to the community, his family and his many friends.

Clyde & Jerri Doctor

Deepest Condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Anderson.
