Lan, I am just learning of your loss. I was so sorry to hear about your dad. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. I have been living back in my hometown, Columbia, SC, for almost seven years. In case you don’t remember me, I dated Ken Johnson circa 1977. Hope you and yours are well.

The late Sen. Bentsen's legacy continues
to be a challenge to all who wish to participate
in the political process from all geographic areas. His thoughtful consideration and depth were without measure. All the while with vision and style.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Texas could use a man like Lloyd Bentsen again. Please accept my belated condolences.

Mr. Bentsen was an inspiration for good government and servant leadership. His intellect, wit, and wisdom brought good government for all of us. He will be missed.
