Lloyd was born on January 24, 1937 and passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Lloyd was a resident of Louisiana at the time of passing.
I was a band student at Roosevelt Middle School in the early 1970's. Mr. Brackney was a very talented music educator. I was blessed to know him.

Mr. Brackney was one of my greatest teachers. He was stern but fair and demanded the best from his students. He properly taught us our desired craft (how to read music...time and key signatures, dynamic markings), how to march, discipline, and to respect one another. We were a Middle School Band playing advanced classical marching music properly (high school/college level) such as "Washington Post", "Grandioso" as well a contempory pieces ("Get it On", "Lady Madonna"). It was a pleasure meeting you. I loved how you called me and my co-worker the 'Smart ones' for bringing our lunch at Lakeside Mall. I also enjoyed those free Sandwich coupons from Chick-Fill-A you got for us. You were friendly to everyone you met. May God keep you in his care and I pray for Your family.

Mr. Lloyd, working at the cart will not be the same without your daily visits. I cannot express in words how much you will truly be missed by many. Thank you for your encouraging words when you saw me studying & thank you for always stopping by with sweet tea & a smile to get me through my work day.
