I remember the day I started to work for Mr. Lazarus. I was sent to the receiving department where my "career" in women´s clothing would begin. While I was thrilled, at the age of 16, to be working in such a special and unique environment, I was scared to death of Me. Lazarus. Anna and Chipper, I remember when you were born. Both of you were were proudly displayed at the company's Christmas lunches! I worked several years with your dad from 1964-1973, first as ast. mgr. under Mildred Reed at the Towers store, then after service returned to the downtown store as his assistant. We made several buying trips to NY and I worked with him to open the Crossroads, and Tanglewood stores. He taught me a lot about life and aided in my future direction. I wish I could have...

I was so saddened to see where Mr. Lazarus passed away. I met him and Mrs. Lazarus when I was 16. He taught me so much about retail business and I have always had the highest respect for him. May he and Lee Rest In Peace.
