NEWMAN, Lloyd J. – Of Flint, age 81, died Friday, November 11, 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.



 



Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Darrell Bailey



officiating.



 



Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.



 



Visitation 4- 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.



 



Lloyd was born in Flint, Michigan on April 19, 1935, the son of the late Lyman and Agnes Newman.



He served in his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.



 



He married Rita Fisher on November 9, 1963 in Mt. Morris and she passed away on February 7, 2002.



 



Lloyd was a sports freak and loved to see his Chicago Cubs win the World Series.





Mr. Newman was employed by GM for 30 years, retiring in 1996.



 



Surviving are children, Dawn and husband Doug McLain,



Michael Newman,



 



sons, Danny Newman and Ricky (Sherry) Newman;



 



granddaughters, Rachel (Mike) Case and Alexandria Newman;



 



several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren;



 



sister, LaVada Randolph of Pensacola, Florida;



 



many nieces and nephews.



 



He was preceded in death by brothers, Leon, Dwayne “Bud”, Jackie and Jerry; sisters, Donna and Beverly and nephew, Kevin.
