Not sure what to say?

Mr. Sutherland was a gift to St. Louis schools, the teachers, and the students. We were privileged and didn't know it at the time. Thank you, Sir.

I'm wondering if Lloyd and Carl are "wrestling" in Heaven. A strange thing to say, but they went to Alma College together - as adults- married, with children. During the week they were at Alma, on the weekends at home. To take a break from the stress of study, they would "wrestle". Our friendship grew over the years, and Pat and Lloyd, Carl and I shared so many good times. Carl went to his Heavenly Home on January 25. Amazing how our God works. God Bless you, Linda, Mary and Wayne. Jane Large

Mr. Sutherland was my teacher and driving instructor. Really enjoyed talking with him

Mr. Sutherland was an inspiration to so many. My mother, Phyllis, was a teacher in his building and she thought so very highly of him. When I was in college and doing a short practice teacher experience in his building he had a conversation with me that I have remembered my entire life. He asked what I was planning to do with my teaching degree; I replied that I was going to teach High School and coach. With a knowing chuckle he said, "you´ll do that for a few years and then you will make a...

Lloyd was a very special man to our community not only was he a dedicated Teacher ,Administrator but he was a great counselor to many students as he helped me out many times. I will always hold our conversations dear to my heart. Thank you Mr. Sutherland you will be greatly missed by many. RIP Lloyd. Dave and Marcia Biehl

Mr Sutherland was my driver education instructor. The dodge coronet came equipped with a passenger brake that Loyd used liberally when I was at the wheel. He would always add a positive comment how well I was doing even after i almost took out a guardrail. Fortunately, he had quick reflex´s and nerves of steel. . He was a wonderful individual and I always enjoyed visiting with him when our paths would cross.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Such a terrific person as well as an inspirational individual; especially for those of us involved in Public School Education. May he RIP.

I have the fondest of memories of Mr Sutherland, having gone through Boy Scouts with his son, Dave. We were always hanging out around their house. Even after high school, whenever I would return to St Louis, he would seek me out at church just to say "Hi" and see how things were going. He always had an encouraging word... truly a great man!

We were friends, neighbors, and your dad was my Spanish teacher. Joanne and I have so many fond memories of your whole family. We were so sorry to hear of your loss. St. Louis was a great place to grow up and both your parents were such an active, wonderful part of that. So many memories.
