Not sure what to say?

I had the honor to spend time with Loet in 2012, while making a documentary of his life and work at his Big Sur residence. The documentary although completed was sadly never distributed due to funding challenges. It is a time I have and never will forget. A charming man whose legacy will forever reflect the gentle and kind artist that he was.

God bless you
Have got Nice souvenirs from you

Loved your work for decades. Can finally afford it.

Thanks for your friendship and sculpture Loet. You and George Burton were dear friends. So many fun times at Bug Sur and San Francisco. Love always,

Loet and George were very good friends to me. They will both be long missed along with the visits to visit with them at Big Sur. Before my first visit, I asked a friend if I should drive down from San Francisco thinking they might just be beach bum artists (The Sandpiper.) My car surrounded by their doberman darlings I dared down that lit path to 25 years of...

God bless you

I didn't know Mr. Vanderveen personally, but he took the time to talk to me on the phone several times. I own several of his pieces, some quite early, and I wanted to be sure he had made them. He did, and he told me the stories behind them (a horse that kept falling off an acrylic base and frustrated him to no end, a couple of African ladies in an earnest conversation, an old woman feeding birds, and a nyala, my favorite and the catalyst for my trips to Africa--I finally saw one in real...

I always loved the movement in the pieces-
have 2 elephants which will be inheritance to my grandchildren.

I have been and continue to be a long-time admirer of Loet's work and am fortunate enough to own one of his pieces (a bronze giraffe). This sculpture has now become even more dear to me and will be cherished always. Jan Kopecky
