Logan Wesley Hodge, age 30, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 9, 2018, at his home in Red Lick, TX. Logan was a Christian and was a life-time member of Beech Street First Baptist Church. He was born March 28, 1987, in Texarkana, TX. Logan was such a charming guy and he lit up a room when he walked in. He made you laugh all the time. He had many stories about his travels to New York and California, all the experiences about his music and film work and great people from around the world that he met along the way. I know he will live in their hearts forever. Logan knew before kindergarten that he wanted to be a filmmaker or musician. Being self-taught, that is what he did with his God-given talent. Logan was signed to Universal Music this past year and was previously signed to a record label in Europe. Logan was a graduate of Texas High 2005, Texarkana, TX, and immediately following graduation he and a close friend, Gunnar Stansson, were discovered by the film industry having set YouTube on fire with their short films, having over 50 million views. Logan went on as a musician, songwriter, producer, and creator of music and films. In 2017, Logan performed in New York for Fashion Week at the National Museum of Arts. Logan’s next thriller, entitled “Crimewave Project”, was slated to start pre-production in California next week. It’s a crime-noir; procedural set primarily in San Francisco Bay area, the film was to be financed by music producer Dylan Reznick of Friendzone, who would also contribute to the film's score, alongside composer Julian Wass and musician Austin Boze, Logan’s most frequented collaborators. Logan had so many venues that he did throughout his life that I can’t even begin to mention them all. Whether it was music or film, he knew it all and he put his heart and soul into every bit of it. There is so much more to say about his life and works. He was so talented and we were so proud of his success. Other than music and film work, Logan loved hanging out with his family and friends. They all meant so much to him. He will be sorely missed forever by everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene and Nancy Hodge; an uncle, Buddy Williams; and a cousin, Holly Harville McDougal.
He is survived by his parents, Glen and Debbie Hodge; one brother, Landon Walker Hodge; his grandparents, Dave and Ida Maberry of Carthage, TX; great-grandmother, Charlene Maberry of Carthage, TX; an aunt, Linda Williams of Texarkana, TX; an uncle, Gary Hodge and wife Melissa of Longview, TX; an uncle, Mark Walker and wife Susan of Rockport, TX; an uncle, Darin Barnett and wife Hildi of Dripping Springs, TX; an aunt, Marla Kelley and husband Danny of Corinth, TX, great-aunt, Kathy Bughman and husband Scott of Cedar Hill, TX, great-uncle, Phillip Maberry of California.
Logan was admired by all of his cousins. They thought he was really cool and so much fun! Cousins: Ben Harville of Texarkana, TX, Kristen Walker Hatten of Mesquite, TX, Justin Walker of Dallas, TX, Jonathan Still of Conway, AR, Sarah Walker Woods of Norman, OK, Spencer Hodge of Flower Mound, TX, Woody Hodge of Longview, TX, Colin Barnett of Austin, TX, Ryan Kelley of Lubbock, TX, and Maggie Kelley of Corinth, TX; Jonathan Bughman of Cedar Hill, TX; also, many more family members and a host of friends from all over the world.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Beech Street First Baptist Church with the Rev. Marc Sillivan officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the memorial service.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
