I was first introduced to the Schrimers in fifth grade. Doris, my Sunday school teacher at Star Friends Church, was a very kind and patient woman. Over the next decade and into my college years, I often worked for them, doing everything from pulling weeds and splitting firewood to hauling hay and house sitting.
