Our friendship spaned nearly five decades and I shall truly miss the wisdom and laughter of my dear friend Lois. We shared the growing up years of our children and many of life's joys and disappointments thereafter. Her special talent was an amazing ability to "challenge others to embrace life and laugh in the face of adversity or celebration".
I once read "He/she is not gone who lives on in the hearts and lives of those who loved them". My heartfelt prayer is that God will grant peace...

I have warm memories of Lois and her warm hospitality to me as one of Perry children when the two families got together in Calgary, and later in Bragg Creek. As a child, I was inspired by the way Lois encouraged outdoor exploration, and seemed to enjoy us just the way we were. As an adult, I remember her vibrant intelligence during a conversation we had a few years ago about art. In a more recent conversation, I was moved by her calm, positive attitude. Dear Blair kids,

I want to add a separate voice from my siblings as your mother had a particular influence on my life. I recall that she gave me my first watch as a First Communion present. This was a big deal to me at the time! Then, a few years later, maybe as a birthday present, she gave me a dog we named Tibor, the only Hungarian name we could think of, as it was a Vizsla. When someone passes away who has left this kind of impression it leaves a vacuum. I'm sending positive...

I remember many visits of Lois in later years to my mother, whose health was deteriorating. It was Lois's cheerfulness and optimism that seemed to lighten my mother's load.
