Lois Bowden Harmon

Lois Bowden Harmon, a resident of Vestavia Hills, died Friday, March 16, 2018. She was a charter member of the Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Talladega High School and Talladega Business College. She retired from Social Security Administration in 1995 after 23 years of service. She is survived by her sons, William Dennis Harmon (Jane), of Columbus, Miss. and Dr. Harvey Scott Harmon (Dr. Renee), of Mt. Brook; two granddaughters, Elena Harmon Wisse and Christina Elizabeth Harmon. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William E. Harmon. Visitation with friends and family will be at Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. with the funeral immediately following at 2 p.m. in the original Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church building. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, in Hoover. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests any memorials be made to the Mt. Chapel Methodist Church, 2541 Rocky Ridge Road, Birmingham, AL 35243.
