There was always a little bit of excitement in my heart knowing that we were going to get to see "Grandma Lois" when we visited San Diego. I loved watching Jackson interact with her, and how loving and animated she was when having conversations with him. I remember one Easter Sunday he asked her to play soccer. When most Great Grandmas would politely decline this request, Lois got up and played, and gosh darnit, she held her own. My excitement also was for a more selfish reason, for I no longer had a Grandma of my own to talk to. Lois's warm heart reminded me of my own Grandmother's, so it was a treat to sit and chat after dinner over a glass of wine and one of Pat's desserts. She had the ability to draw you into the conversation. She was always so light hearted when she spoke, it made me smile inside. I will miss her and the short but meaningful relationship that we had. I regret that she will not get to see Jackson grow up, or that she didn't get to experience Makenzie's budding personality. Unitl we meet again.

i really feel that i had the best grandma ever. When i was growing up, i always would go over to her house when i was sick or had vacation where my parents could watch me. i thought i can get things past her but i know she was just letting get away with it. i also remember when i was at her house and hungry she would cook me a quesadilla which would be a open tortilla and a little cheese on it. i always asked for more cheese...
will miss you.. say hello to grandpa1

Living in Texas made the time I spent with Grandma even more memorable for me. When we would come visit her she always had her farm animal cups ready for our morning chocolate milks. One time we were in California visiting and she decided to take Sean, Michael and myself to the ocean for a while. We went further out then she wanted us to, so she came to the shore line to yell at us to come closer. When she did, she stepped in a hole and got all wet; needless to say we had to go back to her house. I miss and love you Grandma.

One of the memories I will always cherish is the times I got to spend with my Grandma talking on Friday afternoons and spending time with her. You will always hold a special place in my heart and I miss & love you so much.

Every one of my childhood holiday memories are at Grandma’s house and they always included a special dessert just for me.
I’m not sure when I develop my love for her Ambrosia salad but every holiday she would make one large salad for the family and then make me my own bowl so I wouldn’t have to share because she knew how much I loved it. And even the years when she didn’t make the Ambrosia salad for the family, she would still make me my own special batch just because. There was something special about the love she put into the green jell-o & cool whip. Now I really just want her recipe so I can make my own bowls and never have to share, I just wish she was the one who could still make it for me. I Love & Miss her so.

Gale and I, both former Marines, remember well Lois (and Theron) from her long tenure as Secretary to the Commanding General, Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton California. Lois worked for a long list of generals that came and went, being the ever-present Woman Friday, and in some cases the good shepherd, tactfully helping and steering them into their new command. Gale, then the Joint Public Affairs Officer, worked closely with Lois for various official functions. We are both sorry Lois is gone, and express our condolences and heartfelt prayers for her friends and family members. Regrettably neither of us will be able to attend the Service at Eternal Hills.

One of the only memories that I have of my Great Aunt Lois, is when we took a family road trip from Texas to California when I was probably 6 years old. She helped my siblings (Chris, Kelly, and Josh) and I collect these huge snails (what I believed to be huge at the time) from the backyard and kept them in a egg carton! We were so impressed because we hadn't seen anything like them Texas. Thank you, Lois for the wonderful memories that we shared from that trip so many years ago. Till we meet again.

We're sorry to hear about Lois's passing. She was a fine lady and a good friend. We've truly enjoyed our association with her these many years.
