Not sure what to say?

Words truly can't express my admiration for Lois and my appreciation for what her life and family have meant to me personally as well as our state and nation. She was the archetype of everything good that citizens, women, mothers and Kentuckians strive for. Her children and grandchildren are at the top of the long, long list of proof in the validity of that statement. She was truly one in ten million.

Lisa, Julia, Howard, Franklin, Jimmy and Stephen, I send my heartfelt love and condolences at the loss of your Mom. Her art inspired me, her children have been my lifelong friends, her childhood friendship with my Mother inspired my role modeling for my own life. Having lost my own Dad just one week before I can't help but think they are together again. The stories will continue to bind the Grays, Jollys, Howards and Leeches. A tight hug for each of you and love always

We cannot begin adequately to express our admiration and affection for one of Kentucky's most unique heroes. Lois' interest in, talent for and contributions to the Commonwealth in business, in education, in the arts and, most importantly, in parenting have had an immeasurable impact on all of us in and well beyond Kentucky, now and for future generations.

We are grateful to have known Lois and the brilliant sunshine of her smile.

Hers, indeed, was a life well lived.

Franklin, You and your entire family have our sympathy upon the loss of your mother.

Thinking of you all! She had such a wonderful and full life and it overflowed to each of us in one way or another.
Love, Harriette and Earl

For Jim (and all family members). We did not know your mother, Jim, but we know you and believe that you represent the goodness portrayed in the articles and references to her, especially the one by Al Smith. We have experienced the pain of losing a mother and know how real that pain is. May your faith strengthen you life in the coming days, as you remember those wonderful times you must have spent with her.

Dear Stephen and the Gray family,
Our thoughts and most sincere prayers are with you. May the memories of your dear mother help you through this difficult time and bring you peace.
