Not sure what to say?

Dear Deb, Steve and families,

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. Growing up on 30th street I knew her as Mrs. Hofmeister. Then we worked together at Richard-Allan and it took me awhile to get use to calling her Lois. She was a dedicated worker and talented in many ways. Even though I have not seen her in years - I have many good memories.

I remember her when she taught my 4H baking and sewing classes. She showed me the basics of sewing and how to make a pie crust. My family and hers were neighbors in Richland and knew each other for years. My condolences to Caroline, Tim, Deb, Steve, and their families.

I was a student of Mrs. Hofmeister, at O’ Brien High . There were many enjoyed classes. I do remember making the soup, and the time consuming hours she spent with our sewing projects. She was a wonderful, patient teacher. I loved going to her classes. Prayers for her and her family. Class of 67.

I too have many pleasant memories of taking Mrs. Hofmeister's Home Ec class at O'Brien High School. When purchasing material to make a vest, I chose "poorly" ( stripes and plaids - yikes! ) and on her own time, she ripped out my seams and patiently showed me how to match up the plaids and sew again. ( I've always believed Mrs. Hofmeister saved me from failing Home Ec. ) After over 50 years, I still have her popover recipe! My condolences to the family, rest in peace Mrs. Hofmeister and...

Condolences to family and friends of this lovely woman. I met Lois when she was still an octogenarian through a friend. She was a fascinating and well loved woman from the little I know of her life.

My condolences to the Hofmeister family. I am so sorry to hear of Lois’ passing. Lois and I met many years ago, at the Borgess Health & Fitness Center. We often exercised together, and I learned about her life as a teacher, her travels, and heard many stories about her lovely family. We stayed in touch over the years. Lois was a very special friend to me, and she will be missed.

Our great sympathy to the whole family of Mrs Hoffmeister, my awesome home ec teacher at Obrien HS. Our love also to Tim and family who was a fellow "Vagabond" with us at WMU.

Lois was a wonderful woman. I met her while bowling. Later she shopped where I worked. We talked about everything. She will be missed by all who knew her.

I was sorry to hear of Mrs. Hofmeister's passing. She was one of my teachers at Monsignor O'Brien High School. She always had a smile on her face and was a very kind and helpful lady. I enjoyed reading of her many interests and talents; I cannot imagine making 13,000 newborn hats! Her making of quilts, sweaters, hats and mittens will bring smiles to her family's faces and warm them, long after she is gone. Rest in Peace dear lady.
