Lois E. Ormsby

Lois E. (Boduck) Ormsby, 92 died Tuesday at home surrounded by her loving family. Lois was born in Willimantic, CT, was a graduate of Chicopee High School and has lived in Agawam over 60 years. She started her career as a messenger for the 5-Cent Savings Bank, then transferred to Third National Bank and worked her way up to become Bank Manager of the Agawam branch finally retiring from the former Bank of New England. She and her husband loved to travel, especially to the Caribbean. They have gone from Hawaii, where they survived an earthquake that registered 6.2 on the Richter scale, to Majorca. Lois was a long-time communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church and was a member of St. John’s Guild. She leaves her husband of almost 70 years Robert J. Ormsby; two sons Brian of Springfield and Robert of Milton; a sister Sandra Jagodowski and her husband Richard of Agawam, two grandchildren Michael Ormsby and Kristen Ayers and two great grandchildren Emma and Elliot. She was predeceased by two sisters, Blanche Pendrick and Kathryn Jamrog. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11:00am in St. John the Evangelist Church. The burial will take place in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
