Not sure what to say?

Wishing you strength and tender healing during this time of loss.

I feel for you --

Lola was a cherished friend of my parents for many years. I was fortunate to have traveled to France with her and my mother as a young teenager, and we had a wonderful time there. I will always remember the late dinners in Cannes. Lola carried herself with classic Italian elegance, but also exuded humor, strength, and intelligence. My life is richer for having known her, and she leaves a rich legacy to her children and extended family.

Lola was my friend and colleague. I had the privilege of serving as her Principal and Superintendent. Lola was one of the most talented and dedicated educators that I have ever known. She was a fierce champion for the students and fought to get them the help that they needed. She was a visionary in the field of elementary education and was responsible for planning and implementing several innovative programs. I will always remember her compassion, intelligence, and great sense of humor.

I have known Lola, and her daughter Diane, since Diane was five years old. Lola was a strong, complex, highly intelligent woman, who was always engaging, friendly and capable of discussing any kind of issue with real insight.

At this point, over 50 years later, Diane is the person I have known the longest in my life, and I have observed her carefully and diligently care for her mother for the past 12-15 years, while she also has been raising her own three children with her husband...

Lola was a wonderful colleague and friend to me as a young teacher many years ago. She was full of energy and beauty. I have missed her so much since she retired 15 years ago. A wonderful woman. May she rest in peace.

Yes, indeed, my aunt Lola was a lovely, elegant woman! I am sad to hear of her passing. I always admired her spirit, and she inspired me in my growing up years. I know she will be sorely missed by those closest to her. My prayers are with the family!

To her family: I didn't know your mother/friend/sister/grandmother, but I loved reading her obit! The reading says a lot about her and also about the family that wrote it. It sounds like the world will be the poorer without her, but perhaps not when one considers that there are others that will continue to live in her spirit. My condolences to you, but at her reception, consider offering her a round of applause for a life well-lived.
