MAUMELLE, AR – Graveside services for Lola Byrd McGee, 93, of Maumelle, AR will be held Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in Ebenezer Cemetery, Castor, LA. Officiating will be Bro. Austin Hand. Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2016 from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. at Rockett Funeral Home chapel, Ringgold, LA.
Mrs. McGee was born December 5, 1922 in Castor, LA and went to be with the Lord October 25, 2016 in Little Rock, AR. Lola retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Shreveport, LA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Maumelle, AR. Mrs. McGee loved cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. She lived a full and happy life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie H. and Carrie Lee Byrd; her husband, James L. McGee Jr., her brother, Clarence Byrd; and sister-in-law, Ruth Byrd.
Left to cherish her memory include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Nancy McGee of Maumelle, AR and Brad and Janet McGee of Bryant, AR; five grandchildren, Jason McGee (Kerri) of Bryant, AR, Monica McGee Richards (John) of Bryant, AR; Kelli McGee of Shreveport, LA, Michael McGee (Kayla) of Maumelle, AR and Kim McGee of Little Rock, AR; nine great grandchildren to whom she was known as "Grandma Great". Amber, Ashlee and Aimee McGee of Bryant, AR, Nathan and Addison Faro of Shreveport, LA, Logan, Taylor and Carly Richards of Bryant, AR and Easton McGee of Maumelle, AR; nephews, Willie Earl Byrd, Bob Byrd, and Harold R Byrd, all of Castor, LA and several other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Richards, Jason McGee, Michael McGee, Nathan Faro, Willie Byrd, Harold Byrd and Jessie Joyner.
