Lolita Diane Major Scott, affectionately known to family and friends as "Diane" exchanged life for eternity on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at home surrounded by family.
Diane, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, was born September 20, 1966, to the union of General Major, Sr., and Calonya Major. Diane accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and remained an active member until her health failed her. Diane was a graduate of Davidson High School, Class of 1984. In 1986, she graduated from Faulkner State with an Associate's degree in computer science. After graduation, she joined the United States Army and served for 5 years. While in the Army she served one year at Fort Hood, Texas. In 1990, she was stationed in Germany where she was promoted to Sargent in 1992. In 1993, she was assigned to Hunters Air Field in Savannah, GA, where she was Honorable Discharged. Having a military background, she began working at Gulf Stream Aerospace where she was employed for 4 years. In 1997, she started her career at The United States Postal Service in Savannah and later transferred to Mobile, AL in 2006. She remained a dedicated worker until 2020.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Clara Cunningham; four brothers General Major, Jr., Samuel Major, Leroy Major and Cleophus Major. She leaves to cherish her precious members a loving and devoted husband, Richard Joseph Scott; six brothers, Walter James (Mae Liz), Johnny (Ella Ruth) Major, Bernard Major, Willie Major, John Curtis Major and Rodney Lavelle (Celena) Major; four sisters, Maggie McCaskey, Gloria (Leslie) Cunningham, Brenda (Karl) Frison and Deborah (Charles) Thomas. She also leaves brother-in-laws Robert Scott and Willie Cunningham; sisters-in-laws, Ettrue Jean Major and Henrietta Major; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
