Lon Chaney

Mr Chaney is so missed by many,I'm sure of that, but to me his wife and boys were like my 2nd family. I always thought I'd have that one last long talk about life before one of use departed this earth , but I was 3 months to late. I still feel such sorrow ,he was a very dear friend

Lon was a very smart, kind, goodnatured and gentle man, and a good father. His family and ours were members of Woodside Road UMC in Redwood City when our children were small. We were good friends, and our son and their two played together a lot. We send love and sympathy to all the family.

I met Lon through his wife, Ronda, who is the chair of the Fashion Design dept. of Canada College. He was a gentle soul, sweet, unassuming, a devoted husband. He also was a master gardener and raise orchids for pleasure. His backyard hillside garden is a testament to his passion for beauty. We will all miss him.

Mr Chaney, Thank you for your friendship, your patience and for going the extra mile for your students. I consider myself lucky to have been one of your students. Thank you. -G- Class of '66

I remember Mr. Chaney as a quiet, reserved, understanding teacher with tons of patience. I had him for Junior English in '65-'66. We did a lot of vocabulary that year and I will never forget one of the words on the list. It has stuck with me all these years. Chicanery. It is such a neat word, just rolls off the tongue and even sounds like a trick. Bless you, Mr. Chaney. An unforgettable English teacher.

I was a student at Sequoia 62-66'...I never had Mr. Chaney as a teacher but, got to know him pretty well after I returned from Vietnam. We actually met at Dennis Nelson's Health Spa and to my great surprise... Lon was really quite normal-LOL! We connect at another level! Blessings to you Lon!
