BOYKIN, Lonnie T. Jr., of Richmond, departed this life September 25, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Sallie S. Boykin; two sons, Lonnie Boykin III (Suzana I.) and Ivan Boykin (Angela); five grandchildren, Brittany, Fortune, Deon, Brielle and Alona; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th Street. Remains will lie in state Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Broad Rock Baptist Church, 5106 Walmsley Blvd., where funeral services will be held at 12 noon. Rev. Kevin Cook, pastor, officiating. Burial Riverview Cemetery.

I just heard today that Lonnie had passed away and I want you to know that I am so very sorry for your loss. Our lives were made better because he shared it with us as we grew up in McKenney. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I just heard from Lois last week that Lonnie passed away. I will always remember that he had a smile for everyone. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.
