Not sure what to say?

I was at Lonnie's and Dolly's wedding so many years ago and was so happy that Dolly had found the man of her dreams. I'm so sorry that Marlon and Little Lonnie have lost both parents, especially in such a short timeframe. My prayers are with you.

Dear Family and Friends of Lonnie,
My deepest sympathies...I was a part of the "Sun Newspapers Group" of the late 70's. It was an amazingly good time. I remember Lonnie with fondness and respect. The big man with a heart of gold and a gentle nature. You don't forget men like that. May he rest in God's loving embrace.

Dear Family of Lonnie,

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Lonnie was a wonderful person, he will be greatly missed! God Bless!

Lonnie,

You would have been so happy tonight to see many of your former band mates in the same room. There are guys here that have not seen each other in over 20 years and we all felt like brothers again. It’s like we never skipped a beat after all these years – and you know all about the beat my friend. I don’t know what it is about those who share musical moments together but it’s an unbreakable bond, and it feels great! If it wasn’t for you, we would never have been able to produce...

Dear Family and Friends of Lonnie,

Back in the late 1970s I went to weekly jam sessions with Lonnie and some other dear friends. Lonnie recorded all our sessions and then edited the tapes down to his favorite bits. Several years ago, Lonnie surprised us all by sending out special CD copies of these recordings. I'm listening to one right now as I remember Lonnie sitting behind his drums, smiling away, creating a wonderful groove. I'm sure he's found that groove again. Thank you,...

I know you were tired, old buddy. Worn out from fighting the good fight for so very long. It was time for you, and I'll find a way to accept that some day.

Just not today. Today it's really sinking in, Today the earth is standing still. Or it seems to be. Or else it's just me.

So, thanks for the Purdie Shuffle. Now watch how *I* "drive the bus". ;-)

C'Ya!

My husband and his former co workers at Parker have lost a very dear friend. I know Jim has/is going to miss him.
God Bless his dear loving family.

To the family of Lonnie Butts.

You have my prayers in this most difficult time. I had the pleasure of working for Lonnie for about five years and he was a good friend and a fantastic boss. He was a real down to earth and honest person with a quiet nature. I remember our great conversations about our shared intrest in movies, music and sports. But the thing I'll remember most about Lonnie was his intelligence, the way he carried himself, and the love he had for his family. It was truely...

Dear family and friends of Lonnie:
I am so sorry for your loss, and mine, for although I didn't know Lonnie long, I knew him to be a good man with a kind heart, and we need more of his kind in this world! I hope that the many good memories you have of your father, brother, and loved one will help sustain you as you grieve his passing. May God bless you and your family.
