I did not know Lorand West personally. I do however know his son, Kerry West, and am pleased to call him friend and colleague. I never knew where the creation of spaces through prose originated from with Kerry, now I realize it runs in the family.

Darryl, what a huge loss for you and your family and the City of Los Angeles. While I was not the beneficiary of knowing your Dad personally, I am aware of how much he meant to you and, obviously, you to him. My condolences to Darryl West and the rest of the family on Lorand's passing. He left a great legacy for Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, I did not have the pleasure to meet Mr. Lorand West. However, I am a friend of his son, Kerry, from CSU Los Angeles. Nevertheless, my thoughts and prayers are with the West Family during this difficult time. May all of you find comfort and strength in the cherished memories you've had with Lorand.
