Burkhart Funeral Home - Crawfordsville Obituary

Loree Jane McCloud of rural Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday night at home.  She was 60.


Loree worked at Culver Hospital, Wendy’s, Plasetene, and Sommer Metalcraft.  More recently, she worked for the Crawfordsville School System.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles, where she was the recipient of the Mrs. Eagle Award, which she was proud of.  She liked camping, cooking and doing crafts.  She loved to be with friends and have a good time and most of all, loved her kids and grandkids.


Born Dec. 23, 1961 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Maurice Lockhart and Carol Ann Walker Turpin.  She was raised by Charlie Turpin.  She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1980.


Surviving family includes: companion, Rich Woods; three sons, Darrin (Kadee) McCloud, Derek (Macie) McCloud, Dustin (Ambria) McCloud; seven grandchildren, Dakohda, Colton, Tinsley, Henry, Hoven, Emilia, Duncan; her dad and step-mom, Maurice and Myrna Lockhart; two sisters, Brooke (Eric) Elliott, Lucinda (Ray) Brown; two brothers, Maurice Lockhart, Jr. and Jason (Dana) Lockhart; two step-children, Shannon (Malia) Duty-Woods, Brandi (Jack) Burpo; and several nieces and nephews.


Visitation will be from 2 PM to 4:30 on Saturday, Jan. 15th at Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with services starting at 4:30 by the Eagles Auxiliary with Pastor Cody Hargis and Chaplain Mark Strahm officiating.  Cremation will take place after the service.

So sorry to hear the passing of Loree, I know this is a difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you!

I worked with Loree at the school. She was such a sweet and kind person. She will be missed.

So sorry for your loss, she was a great lady. She use to babysit my son Kenny.

Rich and Family, Loree was such a wonderful lady. I remembered when she would enter a room it always seemed to light up. Her smile always made me smile and she always asked how things were. I remember the fun times we used to have sitting around and talking. She truely was a good friend. I will miss her. My prayers are with you all.
