Not sure what to say?

RIP Chief.

I knew Loren from when we were just kids until the time when we were adults. He always drove great cars and was very friendly. I have numerous memories of him at class reunions and riding around with him in Ankeny. I was very sad to hear of his passing...he was a friend to so many people and a great guy!

I just heard today of uncle loren passing and want to send my deepest sympathy. I know I haven't seen him in years . And wasn't in touch with the family, but I truly am sorry for your loss. R.I.P. uncle loren, aunt vicki, and loren you all are and will be missed dearly

Loren gave. He gave to his community in service of law enforcement. He gave in cheer to his friends and acquaintances, in example to young persons, in fraternity to fellow LEO's, in friendship to any who returned in kind and so much more. I was blessed to know him through his time as liaison officer at AHS and his service to Ankeny. Creator Lord, take unto Thyself the soul of the valiant. Amen.

Just found out about Loren's passing yesterday. I was really shocked ! I really enjoyed our chats, he had a way of making one laugh and he was a character also. He was a very caring and giving person. He will be missed. God Bless and my condolences.

Loren and I were pals for more than 40 years. I called him Patrolman Bowers and he liked that. He was an interesting man with many and varied hobbies. I always enjoyed our conversations. He was most knowledgeable about the history of Ankeny and the people living here. I believe this was because he had lived here his entire life and was an Ankeny police officer for 25 years. I will miss those conversations. Rest in peace, patrolman.

We have missed you for some time now, Loren! I hope you are kicking up your heels and having a great time! You could always get people to laugh and smile. RIP, friend!

I have Known and respected Loren since I was 10 yrs. old. I live in Ankeny for 48 years and can tell many stories growing up with Loren as a police officer and have been taught some good lessons through him! as I grew older , he retired and we had many chat's over a drink or 2!! and What a great person he was and he surely loved his Family and Carolyn!! He will be missed by me and someday we will meet again!! RIP Brother!!

I met Loren through Pat and Roberta Gallagher, my aunt and uncle. My sincere condolences go out to the entire family. I think things just got a little livelier upstairs.
