On behalf of the Minnesota Association of Watershed Districts I would like to express our sincere sympathy. Loren was very special. I personally had the honor of working with him for over 10 years conserving land and water. His obituary just begins to touch how good and wise a man he was. This obituary is an awesome testimony of Lorens life. I never knew Loren but have worked with Jim Gades for several years. It is obvious that Jim had a wonderful relationship with his step father and of course we think the world of Jim.

Dear Phyllis and Loren's family -
My condolences on the death of your beloved husband, father and loyal layman in Christ's church! Tho we met infrequently, he - with fine humor - gave me and brother Will a good tour of the Swift County environs about ten years ago. I keep his self-made "right-handed" spatula on my kitchen counter as souvenier reminder of this gentle man. Cousin Mel
