Mr. Janzen was a great teacher. In a way, he still is. After I moved to El Paso in 1974, I took under him two semesters of life drawing for my last year before graduating. I love the passion he had as an artist and an instructor. He had the right words to guide and inspire and show what he meant, but never taking away your own style. Mr. Janzen was a fabulous teacher! I took about 8 semesters with him at UTEP, during the creation of his Mayan series. Wish I could see those now! When I had design questions or problems he always offered multiple possible solutions. Very inspiring! I used his teaching example when I became a college art instructor.
