Not sure what to say?

I just now learned about my dear friend's untimely death. I am extraordinarily sad. Loren, apart from my sweet wife, was as good a friend as I've ever had. We were very close in high school. I spent many warm hours at Loren's home in Encino. His parents and Kiki were like family to me. Loren had a heart of gold and an extraordinary mind. My heart goes out to every person who mourns his passing, especially Kiki.

Loren and I were friends in high school. Though we occasionally saw each other at UCLA, we had not stayed in touch, but I have thought of him often. I remember Loren as truly kind, warm, and generous in his friendship. Loren was a sweet kid; he had only good to say about others.

We learned about Dr. Lipson in 2016 when we received images of the Dr. Loren G. Lipson Contemporary Native American Ceramics Gift to the Crocker Museum, Sacramento, California. The initial gift can be searched in a Collection Search' for the Crocker Museum on www.themarksproject.org. THE star of every party!

I miss this incredible, confident, kind, brilliant and empathetic man. Loren was a philanthropic visionary with a deeply caring soul. I love him and am sorry we didn't have a chance to reconnect. . Love to Kiki, Phill, Daniel, Mark, Keith, Kyle and Kurt (and your loves). Thank you for such a beautiful tribute to Loren .

Your sons are such a wonderful tribute to a life well lived. They are your greatest gift to the world and you gave so many gifts in so many ways. You taught us all that a pateint's dignity is so very important. I will never forget that.

I met Loren a few short years ago when I was a curator at the ASU Art Museum in Tempe, Arizona. He was a fierce advocate for the indigenous and LatinX artists in our collector, and helped us add other pieces from artists that he loved. Every visit from Loren was a whirlwind. I'll never forget the limitless kindness that lurked just below his sometimes crusty demeanor. There will never be another like him.

I knew Dr. Lipson as a member of the Western Art Council of the Palm Springs Art Museum. Though his visits were not frequent, each one made a distinct memory. His generosity to our art world is remembered each time I walk through the museum. And his loving nature will be remembered always.

Dr. Lipson has been a great friend and mentor and it was true honor to call him as a friend. He is delightful mannerism will be missed.
