Loren Dean McEvers, 70, of Jacksonville died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 31, 1950, in Jacksonville, the son of Walter Edmun and Iva Mae Angelo McEvers. Loren married Nathalie Dietch in 1972 and she survives.

My condolences to the McEvers family. I met Loren Dean at the Drexel in the 1970s. Where else? He was one of the best players in a pool room filled with talented players. He had a wry sense of humor and a kind disposition. I was sorry to see this news.

Loren was an amazing man. Truly one of a kind and an absolute pleasure to have known. This world was a much better place and more beautiful, primarily because he knew how to landscape like no other. He was always there to lend me a helping hand and I was always needing help. He will be missed greatly.
