Not sure what to say?

We are saddened to recently learn of the loss of this great man. A great friend and neighbor to us during our time in NM and beyond. He was an inspiration that I know we will continue to reflect upon as we continue in life.

Dr. Loren Potter taught me much about biology and life. He was a great teacher, mentor and an inspiration. He will be missed.

Dr. Potter influenced my career in ways I will perpetually value. The largest measure of my success and professional fortune attribute to his steady mentorship.

Goodbye Dr. Potter; I'll see you up there.

It was Loren Potter who got me off to a good start in becoming an ecologist for the NM Nature. He was a friend and a dear person. I surely will miss him.

Deepest sympathy for this loss to the family. The loving-kindness of God can sustain you now and in the days ahead. May you find a measure of comfort in the loving support of each other and in the memories you share.

Uncle Loren was a great influence on me when I was growing up. He opened my eyes not only to botany but also to the beauty of the Southwest, its cultures and peoples. I reference some of the things he taught me when I teach ecology to my own students today, especially how plants and grasses are "Nature's forgiveness" after an ecosystem has been disrupted. He was a great man, an excellent scientist and teacher.
