Lorene Dodson, age 83, passed away November 12, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Dodson, Sr. and son, Esker. She is survived by two sons, Dennis (Bertha) and John Jr. (Minnie) and nine daughters, Jacqueline Valentine, Brenda Williams, Regina (Marcelano) Hunter, Pamela Edwards, Sherry, Annette, Vicki Walker, Kimberly and Sibyl; thirty-five grandchildren, sixty-three great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation, Friday, November 22, 2013 4-8 p.m. Family hour 6-8 p.m.
Funeral service Saturday, November 23, 2013 @ 11 a.m. Both held at Tree of Life MB Church, 2323 W. 11th Avenue, Gary, Indiana 46404, Pastor Cato Brooks, Jr., officiating. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart, Indiana. ~

your loss.Jackie you know your mom was a mother to all of us.I lost my mother a year ago;so I know just what you're going thru.It's nothing to hard that we can't bare.Jesus just loved her more and Heaven has gotten another beautiful soul!She's sleeping in the bosom of JESUS!!!!

Sherry, earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. I lost my mom 2 years ago and the void is still there but the fond memories and love that we had sustains me as I know it will you in the coming days and years

To Ann and all of my second family. I am deeply saddened but also express my sincere joy and thanks for sharing your precious mother with me for a lifetime. She was truly one of GOD's most precious gifts. I remember when I didn't smile on my graduation pictures she said "you look like you are chewing iron". ONLY A MOTHER! When I first fell in love she said "why are you walking around with that smile on your face"? ONLY A MOTHER! In the later years as we all grew up and went various ways...
